Betsson Group is now looking for a Security Architect, to join the Infrastructure Architecture Team in Malta.

The Wow

The Security Architect will define and drive the organisation’s security architecture strategy, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant technology solutions across engineering domains. The incumbent will support modern platform development, including AI-driven and automated systems, through strong governance and security design.

 

A taster of what you will be involved with: 

  • Define and maintain enterprise security architecture across platforms and engineering domains
  • Establish security principles, standards, and guidelines aligned with organisational and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Experience Engineering to embed security into system design
  • Review and approve architectural designs to ensure compliance with security standards
  • Lead security considerations for modern technologies, including cloud, automation, and AI-driven systems
  • Identify security risks and define mitigation strategies across engineering domains
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Architecture on secure platform and infrastructure design
  • Support incident analysis and provide architectural recommendations to prevent recurrence
  • Ensure alignment with internal governance, compliance frameworks, and security policies
  • Provide expert guidance to engineering teams on secure coding, system design, and best practices

 

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8–12 years in software engineering, infrastructure, or security engineering
  • Strong experience in security architecture in large-scale, distributed systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms, modern application architectures, and security frameworks
  • Proven experience influencing engineering teams without direct authority
  • Deep understanding of security principles, threat modelling, and risk management
  • Experience with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO, GDPR, industry-specific standards)
  • Ability to operate as a senior technical authority across multiple domains
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience supporting secure adoption of modern technologies (e.g. cloud, automation, AI)
