The Hub is designed for operators, regulators, suppliers, and advisors looking to better understand how sustainability connects to business performance. Across the agenda, discussions will focus on reputation, responsible gaming, compliance, and operational efficiency, reflecting the areas where sustainability has the most direct impact on how companies operate and compete.

At its core, the Sustainability Hub is built around a clear principle: sustainability must translate into measurable outcomes and practical execution. Each session is structured to move beyond high-level discussion, with a clear focus on practical insights and actionable next steps.

The day will open with remarks from Jonna Danlund, Director of ESG at Betsson Group, setting the tone for a programme centred on execution and real-world application.

A key highlight of the agenda is a fireside chat with Pontus Lindwall, CEO and President of Betsson AB, who will share perspectives from Betsson’s six decades in the gaming industry. The discussion will explore how long-term thinking, adaptability, and responsible practices have supported sustained growth in a regulated and evolving market.

The programme continues with a series of panel discussions covering core industry topics. A session on reputation will examine how the iGaming sector is perceived externally and how greater transparency builds trust with regulators, media, and the wider public. This will be followed by a discussion on the next phase of responsible gaming, focusing on player wellbeing and how the industry can move towards a more proactive and balanced approach.

In the afternoon, attention shifts to the broader operating environment, with a session exploring Malta’s role in shaping a sustainable future for the sector, and how the wider ecosystem, including regulation, talent, and quality of life, supports sustainable operations. This will be followed by a discussion on environmental performance, highlighting how operational decisions, from infrastructure to ways of working, contribute to efficiency, resilience, and long-term value.

The agenda concludes with a panel on compliance, bringing together legal, regulatory, and operational perspectives to examine how strong compliance frameworks can reduce risk, support investor confidence, improve access to capital, and create a competitive advantage.

Speakers across the Sustainability Hub include representatives from leading organisations such as Betsson Group, European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), Flutter, Tipico, Play’n Go, Casumo, LeoVegas, KPMG, Deloitte, and other key stakeholders across the industry.

Across the programme, the focus remains on practical application. Each session will conclude with actionable takeaways, ensuring that participants leave with clear ideas that can be implemented within their own organisations.

The Sustainability Hub will take place on 28 May at NEXT Summit Valletta. Attendees are encouraged to join throughout the day and engage with the discussions.
